The Communist Organization of Greece (KOE) salutes the combative mass demonstrations that took place yesterday afternoon and today morning all over the country against the new measures adopted by the government of PASOK. These demonstrations must become the starting point of a great uprising of all the workers and of the whole people, obliging the government to pay dearly its effort to impose the barbaric measures imposed by Brussels. Today the Greek people, demonstrating in their dozens of thousands with such an impressive and militant way, send a clear message to the government: The new anti-people measures will go, or this government will go!
The Communist Organization of Greece condemns the coward attack of the special police forces against Manolis Glezos, the 87 years old Hero of our National Resistance against the Nazi Occupation, outside the entrance of the Parliament, which resulted to his injury and hospitalization in Intensive Care Unit. Seven decades after his legendary and symbolic blow against the Nazi Occupation (*), Manolis Glezos is aggressed by the political servants of Brussels and Berlin!
The Communist Organization of Greece also condemns the unprecedented attack of the special police forces against the Parliamentary Group of SYRIZA (Coalition of Radical Left) while the MPs were coming out of the Parliament with their own banner in order to meet the demonstrators. The out of limits behavior of the police forces corresponds very well to the equally out of limits economic and social suffocation imposed on the country by the government of PASOK. Democracy and Class Struggle welcomes the meeting in Paris on 30th – 31st January 2010 which seeks to develop Marxist Leninist Maoist Party building in Europe.
In Britain we have embarked on the preparatory stage of party building through the Co-ordination Committee of the Revolutionary Communists of Britain.
We agree with the Maoist Communist Party of France in the paper Drapeau Rouge concerning the rise of Fascism in Europe and Party building in the following statement.
Modern Fascism or Fascisation? Revival of Fascist Organisations danger of return to Fascism in its initial form.
“It is not the case today that the principal question of opposing fascism is to prepare to assume leadership of a United Front, it is a question of the Party.
The adherents of fascisation put off the appointed day with the excuse that it is necessary to win the masses over before building a Party. In fact it is necessary for links to be built with the masses in struggle led by the Party and to learn with them the fusion of theory and practice. They lament the absence of a Party but refuse to go to the masses under the Maoist banner contrary to those communists and Maoists who preceded us and who built the vanguard parties of their day”. Press Statement by: Struggle India
On the afternoon of 22 January 2008, the notorious Chattisgarh police raided the home of comrade Asit Kumar Sengupta and took him away. The same evening, they again raided in large numbers and searched his house for 2 days. His wife was detained for questioning. The police seized all the copies of the revolutionary internationalist journal ‘A World to Win’, publications of ‘Puravaiya Prakashan’, all the books in his personal library and the disk of his PC. Violating the norms laid down by the Supreme Court, his arrest was formally registered only after 2 days. He has been accused of waging war against the state in association with a banned organisation, theCPI (Maoist).
Who is Asit Kumar Sengupta? Why is he declared as an enemy of the state?
Awakened to radical politics through the 1960s mass struggles and mobilisations in West Bengal , Asit was attracted to the revolutionary movement through the Naxalbari armed struggle of 1967. Since then, his revolutionary cultural activism and work as a propagandist, begun at the age of 20, has never ceased; up till this arrest. This creativity in the service of the people has, over the past four decades plus, spanned the diverse fields of literature, drama, publishing and journalism. Read the rest of this entry »

A great struggle is taking place in Nepal between reactionaries who want Nepal to be a bourgeois ‘Federal Democratic Republic’ and progressives who want to see the establishment of a People’s Republic. The supporters of the People’s Republic, who represent the interests of the great mass of the people, are led by the United Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) or UCPN (M). Those who simply want the bourgeois ‘Federal Democratic Republic’ consolidated, and want no further progress, are the supporters of feudalism and imperialist domination of Nepal. They include leaders of Nepal Congress, the main opposition party.
There have been many recent discussions in Nepal’s media about the issues of integrating the UCPN (M) led People’s Liberation Army and the reactionary National Army. There have also been many discussions about the framing of a new constitution for the country. However, it is this struggle between the supporters of a People’s Republic and a reactionary republic that defines the nature of these other struggles. Read the rest of this entry »
